Elderberries (Sambucus nigra)*: Elderberries are high in antioxidants, dietary fiber, and vitamin C. They have a deep, rich berry taste, and are excellent immune-boosters which work to both ease and prevent cold and flu symptoms. The majority of our elderberries are organically-grown here on southern Vancouver Island, but depending on Mother Nature's yearly offerings, we sometimes supplement our stock from certified organic farms in Europe (where the berries are native to).
Cranberries (Vaccinium macrocarpon)*: Cranberries are high in vitamins B, C, E, and K, and help the body to eliminate toxins, increase metabolism, and reduce inflammation. They are both sour and sweet, adding to a perfectly balanced cup of Berry Good Tea.
Hibiscus (Hibiscus sabdariffa)*: Hibiscus is bright, tart, and adds a gorgeous pink hue to every liquid it touches. This beautiful flower is rich in antioxidants such as beta-carotene, vitamin C and anthocyanin which help to fight inflammation, lower blood pressure, and support liver health.
Orange Peel (Citrus sinensis)*: Slightly bitter and zingy, this peel adds a subtle orange flavour to our tea while boosting digestion, smoothing surface wrinkles of the skin, and providing a healthy dose of nutrients. Fun Fact: The peel of an orange contains more than twice the amount of vitamin C than its inner fruit!
Rose Hips (Rosa canina)*: Rose hips taste floral, slightly sweet, and tart. They contain a healthy dose of disease-fighting antioxidants (such as Vitamin C, quercitin, catechins, and ellagic acid), and help to promote skin and eye health thanks to their high levels of carotenoids.
Ginger Root (Zingiber officinale)*: Ginger root adds a zippy flavour component to this tea blend, while providing a healthy dose of tummy-calming properties along with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds.
Cloves (Syzygium aromaticum)*: Dried clove buds add a hint of sweet spice to our berry blend, and as a bonus, they are high in antioxidants and nutrients, which help to block unhealthy bacteria from entering the body. Clove bud has been shown to support healthy respiration and digestion, and is reported to have anti-cancer properties as well.
